Ween’s debut has been on my list of albums to listen to for awhile, but no more. Glad I could start off my reentry into posting here with one of my favorite bands. I think this album serves as solid proof that Ween were in a musical dimension all their own even from the start. While I do think a few tracks here are just meh (the track Nicole being the worst), I still think there’s a lot to praise here. Some of Ween’s most hilarious lyrics turn up on tracks like I’m In The Mood To Move and Up On The Hill. Also, Ween still showcases their stylistic versatility beautifully, even in this not yet fully developed context. While I definitely prefer their bigger records like White Pepper and Chocolate and Cheese, there are some tracks here that have become new favorites for me. A solid record overall.
