My god is this record amazing. Folk punk is one of those genre combos that can be very hit or miss, but AJJ has consistently proven themselves to be one of the best doing it. The energy put forth on this album is infectious and rather heartbreaking. I love the lyrical themes on this record; topics like depression, self worth, mistakes, and defeatism are addressed in a poetic but relatable way. As usual, the vocals are the real attraction of AJJ for me. The strain and passion they display is so unique and captivating. With all of the emotional discourse presented, AJJ still makes sure to keep every song engaging and catchy as hell. And the rustic yet punky instrumentation compliments every aspect of this album perfectly. A wonderful listen to say the least.
